The original club crest of Truro City Football Club is the same crest of the city of Truro. On the left there is a tin miner and on the right there is a fisherman. The motto is written in latin, ‘Exaltatum Cornu In Deo’ which translates into English as ‘The horn is exalted in God’. This crest never actually appeared on any Truro City Football Club shirts but was used on programmes, club ties and other club merchandise.

In 2004, businessman Kevin Heaney bought the club and changed the club’s crest to the gold cathedral with the cross of St Piran in the background, he also changed the team’s playing kit from the traditional red and black to an all white kit and the team were then known as The White Tigers.

Peter Masters and his business partner Phillip Perryman cleared the club’s debts and all of Kevin Heaney’s mess in 2012 and changed the crest in 2013 to a white tiger pouncing with the cross of St Piran in the background.

The club celebrated 125 years in 2014 and this was the crest they chose, it was only meant for one season but oddly enough it stuck around for a couple of seasons.

The Cornish Pirates Rugby Club bought Truro City Football Club in 2019 and this is the crest design they inherited from Peter Masters. Rumour has it that MJM Sports designed this club crest. The cathedral makes a return and the white tiger is now just a head on the cross of the St Piran flag.

On Monday 3rd June 2024 Truro City Football Club unveil the club’s new crest via their official social media accounts. The main talking point is that the white tiger has become extinct! – No more ties to Kevin Heaney!! With this TCFC have changed nicknames from The White Tigers to The Tinners. The cathedral is in black on a white background and the club’s year of formation is now more punchy. A great design by our chairman Eric Perez.
