In what was the joint longest penalty shootout in English football history which saw a total of 34 penalties taken, we took an early advantage. Thompson, Battle and Garside all converted while Taunton missed their first but managed to score their next three making the tie 3-3. Gafaiti and Tucker missed for City while Taunton missed their two taking the tie to sudden death. 13 penalties each later, we finally had a winner, unfortunately not a City winner. Both teams had chances to win it with both keepers making stunning saves but it was eventually decided when Austen Booth stepped up for the second time and missed, leaving the opportunity for Rice to step up and hammer Taunton into the next round ending a crazy penalty shootout.
