On 13th May 2007 Truro City Football Club not only played but won at Wembley Stadium, the first and only Cornish football club to do so, when they won the Carlsberg FA Vase by beating AFC Totton 3-1 in front of 36,232 fans with goals from Kevin ‘Both Ends’ Wills and Joe Broad.

Matt Hall – What was it like scoring those two goals at both ends of Wembley?

Kevin Wills – Best moment of my career but the most important thing was winning the game and going down in history

MH – How did you all celebrate after the game?

KW – I got drug tested by the FA, random they said!! Then back to our hotel to celebrate long into the evening with Yetts being the last man standing!

Matt Hall – What do you remember from this game?

Mark Tregunna – We won 3-1, our midfield was outstanding, their (AFC Totton) goal was a good finish but a foul on Stevo! (Dan Stevenson), two typical Willsy (Kevin Wills) goals and a belter from Wolfy (Joe Broad)

MH – What did you make of Broady’s celebration after he scored?

MT – You had to laugh with him!!! He scored in two finals that season, the winner against Liskeard in Senior Cup final at Bodmin

MH – At 1-0 down did you think that was it or were you confident of a comeback?

MT – Very confident, we were just a great side, every player was up for it as were the fans!

MH – Who was your Man of the Match?

MT – Joe (Joe Broad)

MH – What did you do after the game?

MT – After applauding the team doing a lap of honour, it was a tube to Paddington for the last train to Plymouth and drive back to Truro!!!

MH – No celebrational drinks?

MT – Had a few in Chicago Rock when I got back!!!
